  Artists Statement: After becoming more comfortable working with InDesign, I was able to create a personalized portfolio containing all of the projects we've done throughout the semester. For reference, the first slide is above and the last slide ends with the business cards. This portfolio encompasses all of the hard work I've put in throughout this semester, and I couldn't be more proud of myself. Looking back on it, I didn't even realize how many projects we've actually done! I used a green color scheme, featuring a light green as the background with dark green, grey, and black as alternate colors. I can't wait to show this portfolio to my friends and family to show off all of my projects!

Artists Statement: This was my very first time working in InDesign and while its similar to other softwares we've used in class this semester, it also has its differences. My three logos features various different color schemes which I was able to coordinate with the business card colors. I feel as though business cards should be kept simple and not overcomplicated to keep focus on the logo and personal business information. On the front of the cards I included my logo and on some I included elements like diamonds and circles. On the back of the cards I included the same elements as the front but added in my business information. If I was to choose one card to actually use for a business I would choose the black and red color scheme because I think those colors go great together and looks the cleanest. Overall this project was super fun and allowed me to be very creative with my card designs!  

 Final Image: Artists Statement: One of my favorite movies is Superbad which is the one I used for this project. I found this great picture of the three main characters and saw a perfect spot that I could Photoshop myself into. I was able to mask my original image, then mask the two guys in front of me. Also, I added a color filter to myself to match the environment. Specifically, I used a warming filter and fine tuned it to match the best. It took some trial and error to get myself to blend into the original image the best, but I feel as though the final product turned out great. In my original image I had my arm extended in hopes to have my arm around the guy wearing yellow but I unfortunately wasn't able to figure out how to do it. A little easter egg I added in my image is that I put my logo brush on the back of the computer to blend in with the other stickers. Overall this was my favorite project so far and can't wait to Photoshop myself into other pictures!     Me: ...

  Artists Statement: Tag Brush was a very fun and creative assignment to work on. I was able to experiment with the various layers available to use and see what looked best with my logo. While complex, this assignment gave me great knowledge as to how to create a brush in Photoshop. Above is my basic B/W brush, and then to the left are my colorized ones. This brush worked great when adding my own personal touch to further assignments, almost like an artists signature. I'll definitely be using the skills I learned in this section for future projects and brush creations!

  Find 1 image that inspired you or gave you an idea for the "Somewhere" project: I think this is a really cool photo because you can do a lot with the background of it. Whether it's changing colors or making it a whole other structure, I would definitely photoshop myself onto it. Find 1 image you think it would be really hard to photoshop yourself in to: This photo I especially thought it would be hard to photoshop myself into because of how complex the image is. Theres a lot of motion blur going on, lots of different colors and reflections, it would be a hard task to accomplish.  Find 1 set of images that made you laugh: All of his posts were very funny and creative but I laughed the most at this one 😂 Which illusion you think you might want to recreate? This illusion is cool because some of the other ones were able to be done without software, whereas this one clearly uses photoshop. It would be very cool to work on a project like this one.

  Artist Statement: For my black and white to color photoshop project I decided to use three different types of color schemes; Square, Triad, and Analogous. I really like pinkish-purple colors and I think my favorite scheme in this project was probably the analogous. I was able to utilize the quick selection tool to outline multiple sections of my image including my shirt, shorts, hair, the wall behind me, the reflection on the water, the lights, and as an added bonus, the moon! Having a white shirt on definitely helped the colors on my shirt pop a bit more than the rest of the image since it was taken at night time. Overall, I really enjoyed working on this project and I think photoshop is my new favorite software that we've used so far!

In the tutorial he shows you some of the basic effects you can use when editing an image, adding in text, as well as saving your work.   Hi Everyone!      For my propaganda poster, I followed the tracing technique. While it was time consuming, I was able to get the final product very close to a real cartoon version of myself and I'm very happy with how it turned out!           What I'm promoting in my poster is all about mental health. Sometimes, you just need to take a second and breathe in the present moment. I know many people that suffer from mental health issues and I know how tough it is to get through. Hopefully, my poster can be eye-catching enough to make the everyday person stop for a second and take the time to be in the present moment. My message is very thought provoking because it makes people think about how sometimes you just need to relax and decompress after a hard day. I originally was going to do 'just relax' as my slogan, but decided on 'just breathe' because the act of taking a deep breath will instantly make a person feel more relaxed.  ...

  Hi Everyone! For my personal logo project I wanted to create something that was not only creative, but had multiple elements inside of it. Looking at some of my original sketches, I was sticking to things I knew and loved, for example, music, the trumpet, my favorite sport which is volleyball, and my Irish heritage. However, I thought about the deep connection I have to my home city of Providence, RI and decided to start there. My logo features an outline of the Providence skyline with my initials E and M between the buildings, as well as a clover in the middle symbolizing my heritage. Something about this logo felt special to me, as it encompasses a strong sense of home while also bringing in aspects of where my family originates from. I thought bringing a few of the buildings into the foreground would help my initials pop more and make them more noticeable.   Calligram Project      For my calligram project I decided to base it off of something I would say represents me, which is music. What you are seeing above is a Treble Clef with music bars flowing off of it, representing what sheet music would look like. I was able to morph the words in a way to look like they're flowing off of the Treble Clef using a tool called the puppet warp. Placing pins on each word using this tool allowed me to morph the words in the way I wanted them to. While I did use the envelope distort tool for some parts, the puppet warp tool was much easier to get the desired shape I wanted. I decided to go with a variety of different fonts in this piece to add an element of creativity, not keeping everything the same. Each different font represents a different sentence, making for easier readability. While things do tend to get a bit trickier to read in the Treble Clef area, using the different fonts helps distinguish between sentence. Inspiration My...

  For my canvas project I wanted to do something that was creative, but also spoke to me. I am obsessed with music and my favorite instrument is the Trumpet, so I thought I'd recreate it in canvas. Coding has always been an intimidating subject for me, as I never thought I'd be able to take the time to understand it. After this past unit in class, I've realized while coding is still challenging, it's not as intimidating as I once thought. For my first time ever giving coding a shot, I feel like my project turned out to the best of my abilities.  In my artwork, I feature the main trumpet design with some special abstract parts to it, including the triangular bottom valve covers and the large, gradient bell. I'm very happy that my original design resembles my final piece very similarly.  Hello everyone!      First off, I'd like to start by introducing myself. My name is Ethan Marley and I'm from the small state of Rhode Island. I'm an avid music lover and enjoy playing the trumpet, piano, and listening to music all day. My favorite sport to play is volleyball and I played it all throughout high school. Here at UT, I'm majoring in Advertising and Public Relations, and I'm exited to continue to experience all the amazing courses this school has to offer.      After coming to our first class last Wednesday, I was super exited to see the computers we'll be working on, as well as all of the cool software. My professor, Professor Roundtree, is very knowledgable about our course and has had several years of experience in this field, which exites me even more for this course.
